Ahead of the release of The Sims 4 Amour Fou DLC on July 25, 2024 on consoles and PC, Electronic Arts has once again confirmed a major, long-awaited change to the base game.
Things are about to heat up in The Sims 4 very soon. With the Amour Fou expansion, Maxis is looking to raise the temperature even further, notably by copying the Tinder mobile application. There will also be a whole host of new interactions, both romantic and otherwise, that will help refine relationship decisions. The good news is that players who don’t buy the DLC will get some very interesting additions, including some highly anticipated features.

You will therefore be able to organize your meetings in a different way in The Sims 4 when the Amour Fou DLC is available. At the same time, the July update will be available with several new features. The polyamory functionality will finally be implemented and will allow you to adjust the level of jealousy in the relationships between your Sims and NPCs. Through CAS (Create a Sim), it will be possible to define the status for each family member (engaged, married, etc.) and create friends with the “partner” option. We already knew this.
However, during a presentation of The Sims 4 Amour Fou DLC, another feature that has been highly requested for 10 years was discovered. Now NPCs can freely change their relationships and it is no longer the player’s responsibility to do what is necessary. « NPC Sims may come and ask you to advance your relationshipIf another Sim wants to continue, you will receive an invitation that you can accept or decline. says Josh Contreras, lead game designer.

This new feature and the others will be available in The Sims 4 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Mac starting July 25, 2024.
