Eli Roth brings Borderlands to theaters. The sci-fi action film starring Cate Blanchett, Jaime Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart and Jack Black will be released in cinemas on August 8, 2024.
Borderlands has already had a bumpy road
Borderlands has been a long time coming: The shoot actually ended in June 2021, but there were numerous problems afterwards. Post-production was significantly slowed down by the corona pandemic, while director Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) was no longer available for extensive reshoots.
Since Eli Roth was busy with his horror film Thanksgiving, which was released in November 2023, Tim Miller (Deadpool) stepped in for him. Now Borderlands is finally heading towards his Cinema release on August 8, 2024

The enthusiasm is limited
However, the initial reactions to the new material are anything but euphoric. Not only the images, but also the choice of cast and director cause general frowns. The fact that Borderlands already has an eventful production history behind it also doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
We have some meaningful reactions from movies-Subreddit collected for you:
This casting makes no sense. Lol.
– BubiBalboaThat’s exactly what I was about to say, this cast is a disaster! Jack Black is probably the only one who makes any sense in this.
I just can’t take Kevin Hart as Roland seriously.
– NoCulture3505The combination of THIS brand, THIS cast and THIS director is just plain funny to me for some reason. What a mess. […]
– odin1731Maybe don’t write on the poster that the producers of Uncharted, Spider-Man and Venom [für diesen Film] are responsible.
– redvelvetcake42This looks like a porn parody.
