game news 40 games to try for free on Xbox are now available and you shouldn’t miss them!
Starting today and for a limited time, you can try these 40 games for free on Xbox. We explain everything in this article!
After the Steam Neo Fest, the ID@Xbox Demo Fest takes place
A few days ago, Xbox confirmed a new edition for its ID@Xbox Demo Fest. As with Steam’s Neo Fest, the principle is simple: make lots of demos available for free to try out upcoming games. But beware, such a demo festival has a limited duration. As for this year’s ID@Xbox Demo Fest, It starts today (Tuesday, July 11) and ends on July 17. You therefore only have one week to test the next games as part of the ID@Xbox program.
But perhaps it is necessary to remember what ID@Xbox is. It’s a program that, as its name suggests, has been maintained by Xbox since 2014. The goal? Allow independent studios to publish their games. Since its creation, no fewer than 5,000 developers have been seduced by the ID@Xbox adventure, including those of Planet of Lana, Unpacking or Chicory: A Colorful Tale. It’s a real success for Xbox. So much so that Xbox vice president Sarah Bond recently announced her desire to set up another program to support indies, this time more focused on game prototypes. But back to the ID@Xbox Demo Fest!
(FYI) ID@Xbox demos are now available in the Microsft Store

40 games to try for free
No less than 40 games will be available in this new edition. Among them we find expected titles like The Wandering Village, Sea of Stars or Lies of P. But if you’re curious you might be able to find some small nuggets. Maybe DREAMERS, Oaken, Dead Pets Unleashed, Wordless, Demonschool or even Rain World are the next indies to follow, who knows.
Note that the various demos offered do not reflect the state of the game at the time of its release. Unlike more traditional demos, most of these were created long before development on the final title was complete. Because of this, Xbox also strongly encourages players to voice their opinions and contact the developers directly. The games will indeed be able to evolve according to the criticism expressed during this ID@Xbox Demo Fest. This is a very good reason to indulge in temptation and not to miss out on this limited-time event. If you’re keen, go to the Xbox Dashboard now!
