Game news 5 promising racing games to be released in 2022
If the year 2021 was particularly marked by Forza Horizon 5 in terms of racing games, the new episode of Playstation’s auto simulation saga Gran Turismo will be released in 2022. However, since it is nowhere near the only racing game slated for 2022, we offer you a quick tour of other titles in the genre that you can wait for next year.
Gran Turismo 7
Five years after the last game was released, the Gran Turismo saga returns with a numbered seventh opus on PS4 and PS5 that is still being developed by Polyphony Digital. Given all that has been revealed so far, this episode is synonymous with homecoming with in particular the return of the Simulation GT mode and the series’ traditional campaign. Elements that testify to the developers’ desire to place this episode in the lineage of Gran Turismo 1 and 4, with a traditional experience on a grand scale. However, there are also elements from more modern episodes like the Gran Turismo Sports championships. And to be more specific about the content, you should know that the title should have 90 circuits at launch and will take advantage of the capabilities of the PS5 to offer ray tracing.

GRID legends
After a lovely episode in 2019, the GRID franchise returns in 2022 with GRID Legends, which promises to be in the right line of its predecessor. With its spectacular arcade aspect adopted in the tracks and game modes, the title uses the next generation’s contribution for a visual and sonic aspect of the cars that exudes simulation. In addition to its effective sensations, there is a story mode called “Driven to Glory”, which particularly features Ncuti Gatwa, the actor who excelled in the Sex Education series broadcast on Netflix. In terms of content, more than 100 different vehicles are planned for the launch, which can compete against each other in the same event, regardless of their characteristics. Finally, thanks to a race editor, it will also be possible to configure your own events with conditions, advantages and preferred restrictions.

Forza Motorsport (2022)
Following the success of Forza Horizon 5 in late 2022, it’s Motorsport’s turn to be eligible for a new episode in 2022. As a reminder: The Horizon series offers an open-world experience, while motorsport is more about the focus on racing on the track, racing events and series. But more than a simple eighth work, it’s actually a reboot of the Xbox brand’s iconic franchise.

Need for Speed (2022)
While a new episode of the Need for Speed saga was planned for 2021, it had to be postponed to 2022 because Criterion, a studio that had previously worked on the franchise and is now taking over the series, had to help develop Battlefield 2042. To Reminder: The four previous games (Rivals, Need for Speed 2015, Payback and Heat) were developed by the Ghost Games studio. For now, We therefore know absolutely nothing about this new Need for Speed, other than its launch window, which is currently set for 2022.
