Apple has just lifted the veil on the date of its next highly anticipated event: May 7, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Announced with a captivating invitation featuring a colorful apple and an Apple Pencil, this event titled “Let Loose” promises big announcements regarding their iPad tablet lineup.
The theme “Let Loose” suggests an emphasis on creativity and freedom of expression and is consistent with the traditional use of the iPad as a tool for creatives. The inclusion of the Apple Pencil in the invitation’s artwork reinforces this idea and hints at the introduction of improved drawing, graphic design, and perhaps even new interactive features.
What can we expect?
Current leaks and rumors surrounding the sixth generation of the iPad Air indicate that two models are in development. Codenames J507 and J537. The first model would retain the current dimensions of the iPad Air. While the second would offer a larger 12.9-inch screen. These new iPad Airs should integrate the M2 chip, which offers higher performance, as well as the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The design changes wouldn’t be radical, but would include a redesigned photo module. With an updated aesthetic reminiscent of some developments already seen on the iPhone. The May 7 event could also be an opportunity for Apple to unveil the first iPad Pro with an OLED screen.
