a big, outdated conference, expect heavy things

Big, conference, expect, heavy, outdated

Microsoft has just announced the date of its next big Xbox conference and is already promising very big things. Games to seduce the Japanese audience, big exclusives… Phil Spencer is promising heavy stuff.

While Sony has not yet officially announced its State of Play, although it is expected for September 24, Xbox, for its part, has already announced the date of its next conference. The American giant does not give up and continues its seduction campaign towards the Japanese public. For this reason, in a few days it will broadcast its next event at the Tokyo Games Show.

Xbox announces a date for its next big meeting

The TGS is about to start and Xbox will indeed be there. The green brand has always struggled to find a place in the archipelago, but the tide is starting to turn (slowly). In recent years, Xbox has been expanding its partnerships with major Japanese companies to attract gamers. At the forefront is SEGA, which continues to showcase its games on Phil Spencer’s platform. Yakuza like a dragonPersona… is it working? It’s too early to say, but what is certain is that more partnerships are in the works, especially with Square Enix. There is Final Fantasy in the air…

Xbox will tell us very soon as Spencer just confirmed the outfita big conference on September 26th at 7pm.Japanese time (ie noon here). Obviously he doesn’t tell us the line-up for the event in advance, that would be too easy. But you know the place, we get a lot of teasing.

What can we expect from the big conference?

What can we expect from this next Xbox showcase? We’ll definitely have SEGA. It seems more than obvious that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, freshly announced, will have a new trailer or gameplay. Maybe we’ll also be entitled to a new presentation of Metaphor, the next big JRPG from Atlus, or possibly a surprise (we want Persona 6!).

Square Enix could also be one of the main players of this Xbox conference. We know that the two entities have been getting closer recently, especially since the arrival of Final Fantasy 14 on the platform, and more and more rumors speak of the arrival of the latest Final Fantasy, such as FF7 Remake For example, maybe it’s an opportunity for Square Enix to replenish its coffers a little, as FF7 Remake and FF16 didn’t make as much money as expected.

Obviously, there won’t only be games that appeal to the Japanese audience, and we’re already expecting some exclusives. Starfield will surely come back to sell us its DLC; Avowed or Indiana Jones could also be there. See you on September 26th to find out for sure.
