Wasting no time following the release of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Capcom wants to take the temperature regarding its Zombie license. Are there any surprises?
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. More than 18 years after the original, Capcom has brought a franchise beloved by zombie fans back from the dead. A way to gauge interest after this long absence by launching a project at a lower cost and thinking about the future if successful. It’s too early to tell, but the Japanese publisher wants to strike while the iron is hot! Frank West may not have said his last word…
A new remaster, remake or game for Dead Rising?
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is the best way to (re)discover Capcom’s offbeat license that’s all about killing zombies in the middle of a mall. Any similarity to George A. Romero’s Zombie would obviously be coincidental (no). While editorial panda Kikitoes had fun reconnecting with the franchise, it’s difficult to jump to the ceiling due to too light an overhaul. The limitations of a remaster that betray the game’s age, despite a big new feature that helps get you back into the game.
Still, fans will certainly fall for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and Capcom would like to know if there are players willing to support the series in the future. As with a possible Dino Crisis remake, the publisher published a survey about which game the community would like to see again. Unsurprisingly, the first choice offered to Internet users is a hypothetical Dead Rising 2 Deluxe Remaster, but not only that.
In Capcom’s poll, players can express their desire for a remaster of Off the Record, Dead Rising 3, 4, or even one Remake of any episode. Endless recycling? You may be able to prevent this by checking the box « I want an entirely new Dead Rising game ». And if you don’t know what to do with the series, feel free to let us know too. Should your license come back? If so, in what way(s)?
