The proceeds go directly to UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), which helps Palestinian refugees with health and nutrition issues. They will be used for the hardest hit areas of the previous conflict, for which the toll is high.
Independent games are unique in that they can tell stories you won’t see in AAA or any other game. We let our life experiences flow into our games and share a part of ourselves with the world. Palestinian game developers are no different in this regard, but they also face the challenges of limited access to basic services such as clean water, electricity, medical care and food security. They live under Israeli rule, which discriminates against and subjugates Palestinians to the point of persecution and apartheid, simply because they are Palestinians. In addition, they develop games without all of the resources that come with a western game development hub.
