A complaint was filed against Microsoft on April 28 last in the western district court of Washington by a consumer, Donald McFadden, concerning a problem on the Xbox One controllers.
It is a manufacturing defect on the Elite pad which is at the heart of the problem. like the Joy-Cons, the high-end controller from Microsoft (around 170 euros) would suffer from a drift problem – phenomenon blocking the direction of an analog stick – that several buyers have noticed
According to him, Microsoft is aware of the problem, linked to a design flaw at the potentiometer, which, with wear, causes a signal without manipulation by the player. But the Redmond company would refuse to make repairs for free. It seems that other models of Xbox One pads are affected.
Microsoft has not yet spoken. Nintendo, for its part, responded to the policy of Joy-Con Drift by promising to repair or replace controllers defective without advance fees.
