The Game Awards ceremony, which we expect very early on December 13th, is already the subject of a first leak for one of its big announcements that will take place during the evening.
In addition to handing out awards in various categories, the Game Awards is also a winter event to see what the future of video games has in store for us. Whether presentations of already known games or the traditional WORLD PREMIERE, we should have plenty of that in the three hours that the ceremony will last. Like previous editions, the 2024 edition was not spared from the horrors of leaks, and a first major announcement was made before its time.
The Game Awards 2024 are affected by a first major leak
As a reminder, the 2024 Game Awards ceremony will be broadcast live here from 1:30 a.m. to around 4 a.m. Of course, we will be there to report on the big announcements and the winners of the twenty categories of this year's edition. In particular, it is about whether Shadow of the World Tree, the Elden Ring DLC, will receive the GOTY title despite the controversy surrounding this nomination.
But a first leak comes from the generally well-informed Billbil-Kun Dealabsis supposed to turn our work a little upside down and pull the rug out from under the Game Awards 2024. The leak in question concerns Hazelight Studios' next game, directed by Josef Fares, a regular at the event organized by Geoff Keighley. Currently known only as Split Fiction, we already know its release date: March 6, 2025, on PC and consoles (a priori PS5, Xbox Series and possibly Nintendo Switch).
Split Fiction is a new cooperative game from a studio known for always offering very original experiences in the field. We remember in particular the very imaginative A Way Out and especially the excellent It Takes Two, which was named Game of the Year at the Game Awards 2021. However, it still remains to see this famous split fiction in action. Unless the trailer has leaked, see you on December 13th.
