Announced with great fanfare during the Game Awards ceremony, Star Wars Eclipse is still very mysterious. Could the title developed by Quantic Dream be inspired by The Last Of Us?
The man who leaked Star Wars Eclipse ahead of its time, a certain @acccngt on Twitter just made new revelations. If his message has since been deleted, we could read the following:
– Traditional action gameplay (Jedi Fallen Order-like for combat, to have an example)
– A mix of story and gameplay (The Last Of Us took as inspiration)
– Quantic Dream Montreal is working on gameplay prototypes
– They have difficulties hiring staff
What to expect ?
That’s a lot of information, but the most important thing is undoubtedly a gameplay inspired by The Last of Us. So it’s clearly a narrative action-adventure game. This remains to be taken with the tweezers of circumstances, even if this insider’s liabilities appear quite serious. At least as far as Star Wars Eclipse is concerned…
The game Quantic Dream Montreal, which was just beginning, worked on various gameplay prototypes with potential multiplayer. Finally, after the LeMonde/Mediapart/Quantic Dream deal, the studio would have trouble recruiting. A nice accumulation of information, all the more complex to interpret given that the game is not planned for several long years (we’re even talking about 2026).
There is little chance that Quantic Dream will officially communicate this rumor about its Star Wars game.
