XDefiant has just released a very large patch that fixes a number of bugs and also significantly improves the gameplay. Enough to tip the hat to Ubisoft.
Ubisoft recently released the Y1S0.3 update for XDefiant, its first-person shooter, which brings significant changes aimed at improving the gameplay experience and fixing several issues reported by the community. This update demonstrates the developer’s continued commitment to evolving its title and meeting players’ expectations.
Gameplay changes for XDefiant
The most notable new feature of this update concerns the introduction of aiming penalties for players who abuse the jump and crouch buttons, a tactic that is commonly used but often criticized as it is now seen as exploiting the game system, as over-performing these movements reduces their accuracy. The goal is to encourage a more strategic and less chaotic style of play.
Weapon adjustments include modifications for long-range shooting. Including a reduction in movement speed when aiming with scoped weapons. As well as changes to how snipers react when hit by enemy fire. The latter will suffer an increased knockback effect. Persists after multiple impacts and increases the challenge of remote engagements.
The update also addresses several other aspects. Starting with matchmaking optimization, which now allows better selection of players based on ping characteristics. Bug fixes that allow players to join near-full games by invitation. In addition, various crash solutions and the reduction of ban messages for toxicity are included. As well as adjustments to achievements and cosmetic items. For more consistency and better recognition of player achievements. As a reminder, the game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series and PC since May 21, 2024.
