Until Dawn makes headlines again. Not for adaptation to the big screen, quite the opposite. Sony is preparing a little surprise for gamers.
Until Dawn is one of those games that left a mark on many PS4 gamers. Almost ten years later, the narrative horror game continues to establish itself as THE benchmark for supermassive games. Many are calling for a second work, but with “The Quarry” there was finally a spiritual sequel. While Dawn 2 is not yet on the schedule, a new, serious leak suggests that Sony is preparing a little surprise for us.
Until Dawn returns soon
PlayStation is definitely not done with Until Dawn yet. Last week, the film and series department announced the start of a film adaptation, overseen by Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems label and in particular by David F. Sandberg (In the dark, Annabelle 2) to knowledge. Apparently the publisher doesn’t want to stop there. According to the information BillBil-Kun, the company is preparing to announce a new version of Until Dawn for PS5 and PC. Reissue? Remaster? The mystery remains, but knowing Sony’s penchant for small facelifts, we’ll go with the second option instead. Especially since, according to the dataminer’s research, the game will absolutely not change its name.
Suffice it to say that it is not tomorrow until the manufacturer silences its critics who accuse it of relying too much on remasters and remakes of all kinds lately. Nine years later, Until Dawn could still use a bit of polish, as the game is admittedly showing its age. The announcement will happen within two weeks, according to the same source, just like Death Stranding 2 On The Beach. Everything seems to confirm the rumors that a new State of Play is imminent. Sony should therefore not only shed light on its upcoming exclusives, but also announce further PC ports.
A State of Play soon?
Maybe PlayStation can spring a surprise with a few in-house games that are still being kept secret. The PS5 release schedule for this year is still quite vague. The next two big releases are FF7 Rebirth in February and Rise of the Ronin in March. Santa Monica and Naughty Dog have been working on new licenses for a while now, London Studio is still working on its fantastic service game and that’s about it. In any case, given the reliability of this source, we can count on Death Stranding 2 and Until Dawn. It now remains to be seen when Sony will announce its event and whether it can convince after a very reassuring Xbox Direct.
