Despite all odds, Battlefield 2042 continues to update and finally welcomes a new feature that fans of the license have been waiting for for a very long time.
Three years after its painful release, Battlefield 2042 continues its little life despite everything. In celebration of Halloween, the latest first-person shooter from Electronic Arts’ flagship license is offering an event that fits the theme well, including the finally addition of a world that players have long been waiting for… albeit of a limited duration. Better late than never, as they say? The title also takes advantage of this to be sold on Steam at a reduced price.
Battlefield 2042 escapes hell in its own way
Definitely the most unloved episode of the license, mainly because of the apparently non-unanimous opinion of the experts, but above all a release full of bugs, server problems and netcode. Three years later, he continues his course as far as possible. After a Dead Space-related event (peace be upon his soul…) earlier in the year, a new event began on October 29th, aptly named: “Circle of Hell”. In celebration of Halloween and until November 26th, all game modes switch to “Extreme” mode, the famous hardcore mode so beloved by many multi-FPS fans. Every shot is therefore made in this extremely deadly configuration. Same observation for even deadlier vehicles. A bit of a disappointment, as the addition of Hardcore mode in Battlefield 2042 is time-limited until further notice.
The Battlefield 2042 Circle of Hell event also adds a new special pass with 30 unlockable tiers (15 free, 15 premium) for various Halloween-themed cosmetic items. Finally, the Steam version of the game takes advantage of this and is offered at a truly reduced price: 4.79 dollars each instead of 59.99 dollars in the basic version or 17.99 dollars instead of 89.99 dollars in the Elite Edition. Will all of this be enough to motivate the troops to give Battlefield 2042 a second chance? Nothing is less safe.
We definitely hope that the next game in the license, Battlefield 7, will restore its image in an explosive way. If the latest news about him is to be believed, that could well be the case. To be sure, however, we’ll have to wait to see more.
