While a highly anticipated Netflix series will be released in a few hours, the platform is presenting another release in April 2024 that should be a topic of conversation.
Netflix is having one of its best months ever. Subscribers can now sit down and watch “Godzilla vs. Kong,” the three “Beverly Hills Cop” films, or be enchanted by the complete “GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka” series. The cult anime with 43 episodes. But in the following days the service also offers exclusive and completely new content such as: Rebel Moon Party 2the live-action feature film Nicky Larson, Parasyte: The Gray or even a series belonging to the same universe as a previous, much appreciated N-series.
A trailer for a Netflix fantasy series from April 2024
The fantastic will take the spotlight in Netflix releases in April 2024 with the series Dead Boy Detectives. An original creation by Steve Yockey (The Flight Attendant), produced by Greg Berlanti (You) and written by Neil Gaiman, author of Sandman. And this last piece of information is important because the project is directly linked to it. In fact, the Dead Boy Detectives, a detective duo, first appeared in the DC Comics Sandman. “Two ghost detectives and a medium investigating cases for their supernatural clients encounter a powerful witch determined to thwart their plans.”
As the title of the series suggests, the peculiarity of this tandem is that both men are deceased and got to know each other even after their respective deaths. Together, and with the help of psychic Crystal (Kassius Nelson), Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowlanf (Jayden Revri) must solve various mysteries while escaping creatures, each more supernatural than the last. Including death itself. We don’t really know what fate might have in store for these two, but we’ll find out as the episodes progress.
Dead Boy Detectives will be available on Netflix on April 25, 2024 and is revealed in detail in the trailer below. The promise of a fantastic show with its share of paranormal sequences seems to be there. Will it be as successful as Sandman?
From Sandman to Dead Boy Detectives
Dead Boy Detectives is one of the 2024 Netflix series to keep a close eye on. The adaptation of Sandman on the platform was a real hit when it was released, when the universe was considered unadaptable. Upon arrival, reviews were good, with a current Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% (press) and 80% (viewers), and views have exploded. The Sandman series has hundreds of millions of hours of viewing and reached the top spot in the top 10 series and movies on Netflix. At times it even surpassed Stranger Things. We are therefore not immune to a similar success and surprise with “Dead Boy Detectives”.
