Space Marine 2 recently received a major update with many new free features. Here's what it brings to Saber Interactive's very good title.

Coinciding with the release of the anthology series Secret Level (which includes an episode dedicated to Warhammer 40,000) on Prime Video and the confirmation of a project to adapt the same universe with Henry Cavill for the Amazon platform, Space Marine 2 received its fifth major update. This adds its share of new free content, but paid content and technical improvements are also in high demand on PC and PS5 Pro. Let's look at all this in detail.

A pro-fusion of new features for Space Marine 2 with Update 5.0

For all players who serve the Emperor in Space Marine 2, the game's Update 5.0 offers new reasons to join the fight against the forces of doom. This includes free content such as a new cooperative operation. This brings us back to the graveyard world of Demerium, in a mission called Obelisk. It pits us against the heretical Space Marines of the Thousand Suns. They also take the opportunity to welcome a new unit: the Awakened of Tzaangor, a very fast demon that moves on a disk of the Tzeentch.

Space Marine 2 also takes the opportunity to expand the range of options for customizing your Adeptus Astartes with the highly sought-after Dark Angels Pack (armor skins, various weapons and new cosmetic options). This is available to Battle Pass holders at no additional cost. Otherwise you will have to purchase it for 9.99 dollars. Finally it is also possible to personalize the color of the lenses of our Space Marine helmet.

The last major part of the Space Marine 2 update 5.0 focuses on the technical aspect and is aimed at owners of a PS5 Pro with an optimization patch, but also at PC gamers. On the PS5 Pro, this is mainly PSSR, the exclusive upscaling technology. Thanks to this, the quality mode on the PS5 can switch to “bold” to a maximum resolution of 2160p instead of 1440p. Performance mode ranges from a minimum resolution of 720 to 1080p and from 1080p to 1440p at a maximum resolution. Finally, Performance mode also benefits from PSSR at 60 FPS to achieve a maximum resolution of 2160p. On the PC side, Space Marine 2 finally welcomes Frame Generation for DLSS 3.1 and FSR 3.
