If we knew that a Jurassic Park movie was in the pipeline, we just learned some additional news on the subject. What can we discover?
No wonder, a new Jurassic Park film is in the works. As we previously announced, David Koepp, who was behind the 1993 adaptation of Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel The Lost World, is responsible for writing the script for this new project. This news is very promising, but it is not the only information worth remembering. In fact, the media publication Deadline has just provided additional information.
More news about the next Jurassic Park
The Jurassic Park/World saga is therefore preparing to begin a new chapter perform a restart Announced for Wednesday, July 2, 2025. According to the latest information from Deadline, this new work promises to renew the universe of dinosaurs by doing without the emblematic actors who have marked the franchise throughout its 31 years, such as Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill. You read that right, so it would be a complete reboot of the franchise. There is no doubt that this risks dividing many people. Even though the final film in the saga, Jurassic World: The World Next, did not achieve the critical success hoped for, the Jurassic Park saga remains sacred. And it’s hard to imagine how a complete reboot could happen in such a short space of time, with 2025 fast approaching. At the moment, director David Leitch would be the favorite. We especially owe him Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2.
Should we imagine a return to the sources and a reinterpretation of Michael Crichton’s novel? What is certain is that the first film, as good as it is, glosses over certain elements. In fact, many key elements of Jurassic Park are not present in the film, be it in the creation of the dinosaurs themselves, the characters, or even the action scenes. Even the ending of the film is different from the ending of the novel, which we won’t go into in detail here to avoid spoilers.
A book full of surprises
However, it’s important to note that in the book, a pretty epic scene takes place on a boat with the characters Alan, Alex and Tim, as well as a certain Tyrannosaurus. So there are still very good stories to tell. Additionally, not all of the novel’s early chapters were even adapted into Spielberg’s film and could lead to a full-fledged film.
For that matter, it’s hard to imagine what the reboot could be about if it doesn’t focus on the creation of the park and its failure. This is ultimately the central theme of the franchise, and a reboot on a different theme would likely be poorly received by a portion of the public, particularly fans. In the meantime, we can count on Jurassic Park Survival.
