The new free GOG game is available and is expected to be very popular. But as usual, you’ll have to be quick to get this new title.

The new free GOG game from December 22, 2023
It’s not exactly an early gift since it’s Christmas every week on GOG, but the new free game of the week is online. This is a roguelike pixel art platformer. “brutal and merciless” with the permanent death mechanic, Cave blazer by Deadpan Games (Wildfrost). The game takes place in a fantasy universe, in a cave, with just the right amount of goblins, orcs, weapons, items and potions to try and see the end of the world. Cave. A “newly discovered” lair to be explored from the ground up in the hopes of gaining “unimaginable” power.
A roguelike yes, but not only that. Caveblazers, which is available for free on GOG, also claims RPG influence when it comes to inventory and other elements. Multiple areas await you and at the end a unique boss that is much tougher than the little fry you will have before you encounter them. And for the bravest, who don’t refuse a little more difficulty, challenges are planned with special rewards if successful.
The feedback on Steam is very positive: 87% of the ratings are in the green range of more than 3,000 reviews. What pleases is the successful pixel art, the nervousness of the game and the procedurally generated levels. Caveblazers will be available on GOG from December 22nd to 25th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
