The $1 Xbox Game Pass trial is now a thing of the past, Microsoft is introducing a new, shorter free trial that will not apply to all players.
Over the years, Xbox Game Pass has established itself as one of the best deals on video games. For less than 10 dollars a month, members of the subscription service have access to a well-assorted catalog of games, ranging from the latest blockbusters to sensational indie titles. The main advantage is the abundance of titles that arrive as soon as they are launched on the service. And knowing that Starfield will be in as soon as it’s released inevitably adds weight to the subscription. While the Xbox Game Pass Family announcement is yet to come, Microsoft is unveiling a new trial offer, but it won’t be for everyone.
14-day free trials on PC Game Pass
The May 2023 Xbox Game Pass additions and releases have been made official. The first wave of the month will be marked by some great day-one availability like Fuga Melodies of Steel 2, while the arrival of Redfall didn’t have the bite we were hoping for. So, overshadowed by the tumult surrounding the Xbox exclusivity, the announcement of a new sponsorship program was a snap. If it won’t fully replace the service’s $1 trial, Microsoft is launching a new deal that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Games Pass subscribers may be able to enjoy 14-day free trial for PC Game Pass five of her friends, just that.
Small restriction, the invitation only applies to new members. Once started, the referred friend then has 30 days to use their free trial, which includes all the benefits that a classic member would have, such as the hundreds of games that are already available. The invitation can be initiated from the service’s home page by clicking on the “Grant access to PC Games Pass” button, or directly from the official website Xbox.
No word yet on the Xbox Game Pass Family in Europe. The offer in some test countries has been overdue for a few months. Plus, you can share your subscription with four other people, whether friends or family members. The price of XGP would then be less than $5 per capita as all connected accounts will enjoy their games, rewards and other privileges. In France, the new formula is therefore to be marketed for $21.99, as is the case with our Irish neighbors.
