According to job listings, the title would remain in the action-RPG genre, set in a fantasy universe. A new franchise helmed by God of War (2018) director Cory Barlog. Many people have speculated that the creator could also lean towards the SF style instead, but so far there has been no clear evidence.

In the years to come, SIE Santa Monica could therefore switch between her new IP, GOW and who knows other things.
