Naoki Yoshida is still formal: The development of FF16 is almost complete. A new trailer will be released shortly and might bring a release date. 2022?
Naoki Yoshida, producer of FF14 and Final Fantasy 16, continues to assure about the release of the latter. A few days after it was announced that the game is in the final stages of its development, the man reaffirms this, but with additional information. Get ready for gameplay soon.
FF16: A new trailer is coming soon, I promise!
Despite COVID-19 messing up Final Fantasy 16’s internal calendar somewhat, things are progressing well. Better yet, it’s almost done. A statement heard several times over the last few weeks and months, heard again during a stream on NieR Recarnation.
During this meeting, Naoki Yoshida promoted his future game by providing various details. This is how the developer announces it FF16 is “almost done” and The teams spent a lot of time debugging and refining the title. Nothing really new so far.
On the other hand, Yoshida-san tells us thata new trailer has been made and that it will be released “soon”.
A PS5 release date in 2022?
Given the way Naoki Yoshida insists on Final Fantasy 16’s progression, fans can dream of a PS5 release later this year. And then it costs nothing! Especially when Jason Schreier, journalist and reliable insider, had already said that the game would be coming “sooner than we imagine”.
If his information is good, next September the software will be six years in the making. So a 2022 release isn’t completely insane. We bet the new trailer will include a definitive date.
FF16 will be a temporary PlayStation 5 exclusive, lasting six months for the PC version and 1 year for the Xbox Series X|S version. Square Enix hasn’t announced anything from its side and plans could change quickly. FF7 Remake, which had a 12-month cut-off period, is still absent from Microsoft’s consoles. And if PlayStation were to buy the publisher, that could complicate things even more…
