Today is the big day for Max, as a new series, closely followed by fans of a now cult license, becomes available.
It’s been two years since Max announced the arrival of this new series, with the release date set last month. After the enormous success of the original work, this Japanese-style spin-off, consisting of ten episodes just as crazy as the famous license on which it is based, is deployed today on HBO’s SVOD platform.
Japanese adaptation of a cult series, available today on Max
Now, with Adult Swim, Max welcomes a Japanese spin-off of a monument of animated science fiction entitled Rick and Morty: The Anime. As the name suggests, this new series offers the opportunity to follow an alternate version of this lovely intergalactic duo. More specifically, the series describes itself as follows: ” Rick rests in a pseudo-world between universes, Summer helps Space Beth fight the terrible Galactic Federation and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl who turns out to be a timeless being ».
A summary that clearly does not do justice to this anime adaptation of the cult saga “Rick and Morty”. As the trailer shared by Max below shows us, we are still treated to completely crazy adventures through space and time, but with a Japanese touch, written by Takashi Sano (Tower of God and two Rick and Morty short films). What else does the mad scientist expect from Rick and his naive grandson Morty? You can discover it now with the first episode, ten in total, each around twenty minutes long, on Max.
Please note, however, that a new episode is released every week, so currently only the first part of Rick and Morty: The Anime is available on Max and other platforms that offer access to the catalog of HBO’s SVOD service. Likewise, it is not the usual voice actors who play alternate versions of the anime’s crazy Smith family. This time, place Joe Daniels for Rick and Jerry, Gabriel Regojo for Morty, Donna Bella Litton for Summer and Patrician Duran for Beth.
