Stardew Valley gave us an update a few weeks ago and yet a new tip has just been discovered by much of the community.
Even almost ten years after its release Stardew Valley continues to surprise. Its creator Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe) regularly enriches the game with updates, and version 1.6 is no exception. Among the many new features introduced, one feature of the “To Do” board outside Pierre’s store had gone unnoticed. It was recently discovered by players and could well change the way you manage your daily quests.
An often ignored table in Stardew Valley
In Stardew Valley, quests are a mainstay of the gameplay. They allow you to earn money, improve your relationships with villagers and, since Update 1.6, collect rewards. Award tickets. These tickets can be exchanged for special items such as seeds or unique tools at a machine with Mayor Lewis.
The “To Do” board in front of Pierre’s shop in Stardew Valley summarizes simple quests. Unlike the mayor's municipal board, he does not systematically offer award tickets. But thanks to a note added in the update, it is now possible to know when a quest gives a ticket.
A hidden function
On Pierre's board in Stardew Valley, a row of stars appears to the left of each quest. Many players thought this was a difficulty indicator. In reality, these stars play a much more strategic role.
This is how it works:
- A star means there are two quests left before a ticket mission.
- Two stars means there is only one quest left.
- Three stars indicate that the next mission offers one Award ticket.
This system allows you to plan your quests. You no longer have to ignore them and hope for a ticketed mission to appear. Rather, you must complete the displayed quests to progress.
Although Stardew Valley update 1.6 was released on PC for a while and on consoles since November 2024, many players had missed this feature. On Reddit, some people admitted that they systematically ignore quests without tickets. Now they know that every mission counts to get the coveted rewards.
