Despite the recent groundbreaking Star Wars Jedi Survivor patch, there’s still work to be done. While waiting for the new update, there is a solution to spice up Fallen Order 2.
While Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a very good game, it is far from flawless. And some players experience it more than others. Even before the release, EA and Respawn Entertainment had warned that many updates would be necessary for this “Fix bugs, improve performance, and add accessibility features”. A player is tired of waiting for the next PC patch and releases a mod to get better rendering.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor looks better… but only on PC
While all the lights seemed to be green Star Wars Jedi Survivor
How about today? The studio partially lived up to its promise with two major patches that did some good. Both on consoles and PC. Even after two updates, everything is still not perfect. Far from it. In order to be able to enjoy Star Wars Jedi Survivor without further ado, a modder posted a solution.
For him, Fallen Order is 2 “beautiful but quite fuzzy, especially at 1080p”. An unflattering rendering that would be due to an issue with the TAA anti-aliasing option and a bug using FSR 2.0. AMD’s upscaling technology matching Nvidia’s DLSS.
Everyone will probably agree that Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a beautiful game. But unfortunately, especially at 1080p, it’s pretty blurry. This is due to TAA anti-aliasing, which usually causes blurring, and hidden resolution scaling related to graphics presets. Only the Epic setting uses 100%, high 87%, and low 50% resolution. I believe there is also a bug in FSR 2.0 that degrades the resolution by 50%. Although FSR 2.0 is set to “Quality”, it is a solution but not perfect. This creates ghosting (note: ghosting), artifacts, it is not clear enough and the presentation is not natural. Especially in 1080p as the resolution is upscaled from 720p with a sharpening filter.
As a result, his Star Wars Jedi Survivor mod provides better anti-aliasing, enforces the native resolution of your choice regardless of graphics settings, removes ghosting, and reduces the rather false appearance of the sharpening filter. It is available at Nexus Mods
Its a lot to do
As we can see, Star Wars Jedi Survivor is still (very?) unstable on PC depending on the configuration. However, the studio is fully aware of this and continues to search for bugs in order to fix them as soon as possible. Will Denuvo, a hated feature that can lead to poor performance, be removed? This is not the case for the time being and the teams have not communicated this either. On Metacritic, the review bombardment from players for the PC version continues to be in the red.
Also, be careful because if you are on this platform, you might face another problem. Jedi Survivor requires a permanent connection to the EA Launcher running in the background of Steam. Therefore, if Electronic Arts’ servers go down for any reason, the game will not be playable until the servers are restored.
