A Plague Tale: Innocence became an absolute surprise hit and fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem ever since. Could its release date now have been leaked?
A supposedly reliable source may have revealed when we can expect the release of the long-awaited sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem. After the highly acclaimed first part, the title is one of the most anticipated games of the year.
While not many details are known about the sequel so far, the release could still be only a few months away. In any case, this applies if the information published by the Xbox Store, which appears to have been accidentally correct, and the date that has now appeared there is confirmed. According to this, A Plague Tale: Requiem should be available from June 17, 2022 – and thus in about three months.
As with the first part, Asobo Studio is responsible for the development. A cinematic approach has also been taken for the sequel, similar to what you are used to from other blockbusters like The Last of Us.
The story of the series follows a young girl named Amicia who tries to protect her little brother Hugo in the era of the French Inquisition during the 100 Years War. The first part had dusted off numerous awards and sold more than a million copies about a year after its release. An improved port for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S was also released in July 2021.
It remains to be seen whether the leak in the Xbox Store will now come true and whether there is anything to the date. However, we will only be certain when Asobo Studio and/or Publisher Focus Home Interactive speak up about this.
