Fans of Final Fantasy won’t be left out thanks to this new game just announced by these developers. It is already considered a work of art.
There has been a lot of excitement among Final Fantasy fans since the announcement of the FF7 Rebirth playable demo. It’s an entirely new chapter that begins with a new playground to explore, all in preparation for the full title’s release on PS5 at the end of February. As you will have understood, Square Enix is not idle. However, if you’re not interested in continuing Cloud’s adventures but want to stay in the spirit of the license, you might want to catch up on this new game from these former developers.
Final Fantasy veterans announce their new project
A whole group of former J-RPG developers, such as Final Fantasy, have come together at Artisan Studio to create this new title: Lost Hellden. They were joined at the top by a video game monument. This is Takeshi Oga. He is a concept artist and illustrator known for his work on licenses such as Gravity Rush, Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy 12 and 14. In the musical direction, players will find the work of Hitoshi Sakimoto, who often works closely with Oga. And there’s even Puyo (Game Cult) in their ranks!
A trailer has already been released for this new game. He also gave information about his scenario: “One day, a woman gives birth to twins, which has never happened before.” Prime Arkhon, supreme ruler of the world, conducts the bonding ceremony himself. But things don’t go as planned: one of the twins is bound to the Seven Sins, while the other receives none.
A release in 2025 on consoles and PC
Lost Hellden allows us to play as 8 protagonists, all influenced by one of the seven deadly sins. They will evolve in atmospheres that use Deep 2D. She uses weather effects and lighting to make her 2D settings more vivid. It also gives them a 3D look. Namely, that the environments are hand-painted, so it already looks like a work of art. The combat system is a mix of action with a strategic structure, as can be seen in the trailer.
Each character has their own tactics and abilities, as well as plenty of room for individual customization. Lost Hellden is currently in development and is expected for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Switch and PC in 2025. The lyrics will be available in French with Japanese or English dubbing. More information will come in the future, but suffice it to say it should be a treat for Final Fantasy fans.
