Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) reconfirms that Death Stranding 2 is in development ahead of Kojima Productions’ announcement. This is the second time he’s spilled the beans on this PS5 sequel during an interview.
The first time we could (eventually) speak of a bug. But this is where things start to get busy. In a new interview, actor Norman Reedus says Death Stranding 2 is in the works.
Death Stranding 2 in development for PS5
During an interview with our colleagues at IGN in 2021, Norman Reedus, who plays Sam Porter Bridges in Hideo Kojima’s new franchise, indicated he knew that “Death Stranding 2 was in negotiations”.
I think we’re going to do a second Death Stranding. The game is currently under negotiation. So… yippee!
And apparently nothing has changed since then. In conversation with Lion
It took me two or three years to do all the performance capture sessions and everything. It takes a lot of work. And then the game came out, it won all these awards, and it was a huge thing. So we just started the second part of it.
We won’t know more, but that statement would only confirm the theory that Hideo Kojima’s big AAA PS5 project with Sony Interactive Entertainment is actually Death Stranding 2’s performance capture premises.
When is the announcement?
If that’s true, for once, Hideo Kojima doesn’t have full control over his next baby’s communications. So when is the announcement? We would stake a coin at Summer Game Fest 2022 or the Game Awards 2022, two events organized by Geoff Keighley, a close friend of Kojima-san. The only amazing thing about all of this is that the developer said that if there was a sequel, they wanted to start from scratch, so what if Norman Reedus is back? Will he play a minor role?
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is available for PS5 and PC.
