The cleaver just fell. For Bayonetta 3, PlatinumGames had to make a difficult decision. The community is divided after this announcement.
The news about Bayonetta 3 is condensing. Currently on the cover of the magazine game informant, the third part has reve aled new information, including its cast. To everyone’s surprise, the game will make a change that will disappoint many fans.
Voice change for Bayonetta 3
Bayonetta has lost her voice. In fact, PlatinumGames has just announced the cast of its next game – an opportunity for the studio to give a more in-depth look at some of the supporting characters in the Nintendo Switch exclusive. What did catch the eye, however, is the absence of Hellena Taylor, voice of the witch, since her debut. For the first time, the heroine is dubbed by another actress: Jennifer Hale. A name familiar to Mass Effect players since she played Commander Shepard. Why such a change for Bayonetta 3? It’s just a scheduling conflict.
It was difficult for Hellena Taylor to reprise her role. We held auditions to find Bayonetta’s new voice and offered Jennifer Hale the role, which we thought would be a good fit for the character. I understand some fans’ concerns about the voice change at this point in the series, but Jennifer’s performance far exceeded our expectations. I’m confident that her portrayal of Bayonetta will exceed fans’ expectations.
Yusuke Miyata, director of Bayonetta 3
