Zeus, the father of the gods, in a midlife crisis? In Kaos, Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Independence Day) plays the king of the deities and is convinced that his time is over – because of a wrinkle on his forehead. And now it is confirmed – he is indeed doomed.
But not because he ages four times faster like Robin Williams in the film Jack (1996), but because Netflix is canceling the series after just six weeks and therefore there will be no season 2 of the series.
Kaos fans are anything but happy about this decision. Among other things Reddit vent your anger now.
Fans of the fantasy series Kaos are angry
An emotional statement Instagram
Fans suspect that the series may have been too expensive for Netflix. In any case, it can’t be due to the popularity of the series, as it has 7.5 stars IMDb proves Kaos – the morbid gods are well received!
The fans on Reddit are therefore beside themselves and are railing violently against Netflix: This is far from the first time that the streaming service has canceled an unfinished series. There are more and more shows that end up in a common graveyard – that of never-ended stories.
Here is a small selection of the comments:
- »Netflix doesn’t realize that this huge unfinished series library will ultimately ruin them. […]« – User Ricky_Rollin
- »Netflix is a real cancer for the entertainment industry. They bring top talent into their productions and then pull the plug before most of them can even get going.« – User Considered
- »What’s the point? They stop all the good series.« – User retroland47
- »What a shame, I really liked the series. I still don’t regret watching season 1. It stands well on its own merits. But there was so much potential to expand the series in Season 2. We want to see more of the gods!” – User dry_yer_eyes
- »Damn, Netflix! I loved this series!!!« – User Happydenial
And the list goes on forever. Viewers on Platform X are also disappointed. In keeping with this, user nicola_aus posted a clip from the HBO series Barry, in which a producer also stops a series shortly after the first season.

What is the Kaos series about?
The darkly humorous fantasy show Kaos has been around since 29. August 2024 available on Netflix.
It’s about the gods of Olympus – and they have problems too! While God the Father Zeus (Jeff Goldblum) becomes paranoid due to fear of old age, Poseidon (Cliff Curtis) lives out his dangerous narcissism and goes to wild parties instead of helping people. Zeus’ brother Hades (David Thewlis) has problems running his empire properly and is in danger of failing as a ruler.
And then there are the four mortals Riddy (Aurora Perrineau), Orpheus (Killian Scott), Caneus (Misia Butler) and Ari (Leila Farzad). They try to bring down the deities.
Kaos isn’t the only series to suffer this fate. The action comedy series The Brothers Sun, which not even Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh could save, was also canceled after eight weeks – and with an open ending!
Also affected by a premature end shortly after release were shows such as Buying London, Dead Boy Detectives, Everything Now and Obliterated – Completely Destroyed.
