It is difficult to create a successful YouTube channel from scratch. But it's even harder if you're not a real person. That's exactly what Sim Jim Pickens is trying to do now.
The Sim from The Sims 4 recently launched its own channel, which it simply named after itself. But Jim doesn't just want to pursue a specific idea to entertain his fans. Rather, Jim just wants to get 100,000 subscribers as quickly as possible. After all, a silver YouTube trophy is already waving, which he can hang on the wall.
What's on Jim's Canal?
Jim doesn't follow a clear line when uploading his videos. Instead, he apparently has a good eye for YouTube trends and therefore tries out all possible types of video. So far, there are only eight videos on Jim's channel, all of which have a different topic. The videos were also all uploaded on the same day. This includes:
- Jim's first video is one Makeover video, in which he changes his appearance by make-up in fast motion.
- The next video is one Music video, in which Jim Hot N Cold from Katy Perry covers on simmish and shows highlights from his life.
- This is followed by a video in which he has apparently put on weight just to jump into a pool.
- Jim's fourth video is a so-called Mukkbang video (People who just eat in front of a camera) by eating three whole turkeys.
- Of course, what should not be missing is one Cooking video. However, Jim's kitchen is on fire and Shrek is present for some reason.
- Jim's fifth video is a Reaction videoby reacting to different clips.
- Another YouTube classic are ASMR videos. Here, too, the Sim tries it out – by just uploading the sounds of how he kills an entire household.
- The last video is Jim's longest: A 25 minute Minecraft Let's Play. The 100,000 subscribers have to come from somewhere!
Jim currently has a total of 76,500 subscribers and his most successful video has almost 30,000 views. The fact that the channel gets so much attention is not a coincidence and is not due to Jim's striking videos.
Who is really behind the channel?
In the broadest sense, Jim Pickens is an artificial figure of the Irish youtuber Call Me Kevin. This has a very long-lasting video series in which the Sim in principle plays the leading role.
In addition, Kevin often uses Jim's name and appearance for other games. Call Me Kevin has already posted over two million subscribers and recently released a video detailing the channel of his Sim and announcing the goal of reaching 100,000 subscribers:
The video itself has over 200,000 views, so many viewers will have no hesitation in subscribing to Jim Pickens' channel. Kevin announced in the video that Jim probably won't be posting any more videos because he "only wants the reward but doesn't work for it." But who knows, maybe Jim will still take the opportunity to really start his own business.
