Fans of post-apocalyptic games like Fallout are currently in good hands as Chernobylite, the sequel to the groundbreaking horror RPG from independent studio The Farm 51, is officially revealed.
While we wait for the imminent release of STALKER 2 or news about the still very distant Fallout 5, it is The Farm 51 that announces us the continuation of its own post-apo universe, largely focused on horror. So here comes Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone. This, despite some early mistakes, seems to refine the promising formula of the first opus.
Chernobylite 2: an open-world RPG like Fallout, with added horror
In 2021, The Farm 51 offered to travel to the Chernobyl exclusion z one, unlike the famous GSC Game World franchise. Chernobylite, the first of its kind, was actually a mix between an open-world RPG and a building/survival game. So it was a kind of mix between the mechanics of Fallout 4 and the atmosphere and universe of STALKER. This one was rather rough, but still very convincing, especially with the possibility of traveling to parallel worlds filled with horror and deadly dangers.
The independent studio is therefore back with Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone, expected in 2025 on PC and consoles (these have not yet been specified). The concept of mixing horror RPG and base building à la Fallout 4 or 76 will still be present in this emblematic zone, but visibly much better executed. The Farm 51 promises us more variety in construction and gameplay, both solo and cooperative. You can get a first look at these promises in the announcement trailer below, shared by IGN.
Here’s a pretty nice alternative to explore for fans of post-apo universes like Fallout or STALKER. Check back next year though to see what The Farm 51 Area really has in store for us.
