The upcoming release of Top Gun: Maverick continues to have implications for video games. We already knew that Microsoft Flight Simulator would be entitled to its DLC, we discover that it will be the same with Ace Combat 7.
The publisher Bandai NAMCO has made it official through a simple tweet that tells us that the legend will arrive in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. Although the game was released in 2019, it can still count on an active community. We also imagine that being able to think you’re a Maverick at the controls of an F-18 (or the F-14 Tomcats that were scrapped a while ago) should motivate people.
It has to be said that the film was originally supposed to be released in 2019, which would have been perfect for Team Ace’s aerial combat game. Unfortunately the COVID will have decided otherwise and the postponements have been linked. If Asobo had to change its plans with Flight Simulator, there’s no doubt that the problem was the same in the case of Ace Combat.
Ace Combat: Maverick
Remember that the film will finally be released in France on May 25, 2022, so it seems logical that the marketing campaign will continue. On the Ace Combat 7 side, expect a unique gadget (probably the DarkStar prototype, the SR-72 clone seen at the end of the film’s trailer) and some customization items. However, the publisher has not made an official announcement.
let’s wait and see
Obviously, we still don’t know what the content of this DLC will be, its release date (apart from “Spring”) or even its price. Inevitably, all players keep their fingers crossed for a free update. It would be all the more enjoyable since this is a DLC promoting a movie. In the meantime, we encourage you to take a look at the writing test available at this address.
Finally, if you’ve never gotten your hands on Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, you know that the game is available at a low cost. It’s available now for $17 in the deluxe version on Steam, or for less than $30 in the boxed version on consoles.
