Rebellion continues its Sniper Elite 5 promotional campaign with the release of a brand new trailer revealing the game’s release date.
At the end of this new trailer, therefore, we can discover that Sniper Elite 5 will land on May 26, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Also, Xbox players will surely be pleased to know that the game will be available in Game Pass on day one.
This new episode of the series will this time be set in France (after Italy from Sniper Elite 4 and North Africa from the previous works) in 1944. We’ll still play as OSS agent Karl Fairburne, a skilled sniper whose mission is once again to counter a secret Nazi weapons project, the Kraken Project.
Sweet France, dear country of my childhood
The Rebellion studio explained that this time they used photogrammetry to recreate authentic locations while scrupulously respecting the architecture of the buildings. From now on, the maps will have several infiltration and extraction points, which should give the player more freedom in his tactical decisions.
The entire game will be playable solo or in co-op, knowing that a new characteristic called “Invasion” will arrive. Concretely, this allows you to take on the role of another player, playing as a soldier of the empire with the goal of tracking down and eliminating Karl Fairburne (that is, the other player). Conversely, it will also be possible to have a second sniper on hand in certain situations. This should allow, for example, firing shots at the same time to eliminate two targets at once.

Sniper Elite: Gore still on the menu
The famous Kill Cam will of course be there to see how our warhead rips through the enemy’s tissues and organs. But the big news is that this characteristic will now be accessible when using pistols and SMGs, while previously it was reserved for the sniper rifle.
Players who pre-order Sniper Elite 5 will get the famous Hitler Assassination Mission as a bonus. After the naval base Sniper Elite 4, this time we have to set off to find the leader in the heart of the Bavarian Alps, in his residence in Berchtesgaden.
