Frontier is once again preparing for the release of F1 Manager 22 with a brand new video that invites us to become the BOSS. We discover the long list of attributes of an F1 team manager.
If driving isn’t your thing and you don’t have the inclination or funds to invest in a simracing setup but want an F1 game, here’s the solution. F1 Manager 2022 invites us to take on the role of a team manager to lead our team to the top. So we have to manage the drivers, the engineers, but also the entire development of the car.
In this first developer diary, David Braben (boss of Frontier and inventor of the Raspberry Pi) tells us about his love for Formula 1. But that’s not the only personality in the video. In fact, Ross Brawn comes over in person to explain the duties of a team manager. We also see Andy Fletcher, Game Director, explaining how Frontier has adapted its expertise in management games to the world of F1.
F1 Manager: Toto Wolff Simulator
It has to be said that the studio has so far gotten us used to amusement parks and zoos. F1 is a completely different universe and it’s almost impossible to easily implement the usual gameplay recipes. So the Cambridge studio had to meet the demands of motorsport and offer something new. We therefore discover that one of the great parts of the game will be managing our factory.
While it will be necessary to design parts, it will also be necessary to produce them and know what quantities are needed. With the maximum budget allotted to the stable, producing excess parts is a disaster. But producing an insufficient number of parts can leave us with a shortage. Even preventing a driver from participating in a race when F1 has no spare parts.
Remember that F1 Manager 2022 will be released this summer on PC (Steam and EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
