The ax has just fallen for Forspoken: it will be PEGI 18, banned for anyone under the age of 18. Square Enix’s action-RPG will contain violence and deal with a particularly dark theme.
Forspoken may have a magical side to his spells, but he won’t be in everyone’s hands. This is what the PEGI description of the game shows us.
Forspoken will be more violent than it seems
Forspoken has been audited by the European classification organization PEGI. This entity aims to rate the content to warn consumers before purchasing. And it will be for Square Enix’s action RPG PEGI 18
A scene is quoted in the description and refers directly to the character of the heroine Frey Holland.
One of the scenes shows a distraught woman standing on a ledge, drinking alcohol and wondering if this world wouldn’t be better off without her.. As she is about to take the plunge, she is saved by a mystical presence. Later in the game, she is pushed by a villain who tells her she should have killed herself. Forspoken also includes coarse “fuck” language and more moderate terms.
L’PEGI rating There are also reports of violence when Freya is attacked by a gang of thugs who hold her at gunpoint and punch her in the abdomen. Mobs lick yellow blood.
The player will probably also be able to go to a bar to consume alcohol. The statistic is then negatively and randomly affected.
…and have in-game purchases
Without really knowing the meaning of microtransactions, PEGI informs that Forspoken the “Ability to purchase in-game items in the form of downloadable content packs”. However, we do not know the content at the moment.
Future scripted DLC? Outfits or makeup for Freya? In fact, the heroine can, for example, change the color of her nails, which changes her entire abilities. The “Blue Flash” paint allows you to recharge your attack spells faster.
Forspoken will be released on October 11, 2022 as a PS5 and PC timed exclusive.
