In ABRISS no stone is left unturned, at least if you do it right! The demolition game by the Europe developer Randwerk relies on the most realistic possible physics calculation in order to let you tear down brutalist buildings in a dystopian sci-fi world.
The whole thing stands up Steam now available for download as a demo. So you can simply try ABRISS yourself and find out whether you are as enthusiastic about physics as we are. The demo contains several levels that pose different challenges.
What is ABRISS about?
The demolition simulation is divided into individual worlds, which differ in color – and much more importantly – in tasks. There are always different buildings standing around in the area. Thanks to their cyberpunk-like brutalist architectural style, they look like great food for the wrecking ball.
But it doesn’t work that simple: In each level you have to cleverly build the demolition structure yourself. To do this, you use different building blocks, such as the superschweren Block
The gameplay trailer clearly shows what it looks like in action:

Physical destruction rarely looked as satisfying as it did in the demolition trailer
The tasks become more demanding after each level completed. But one thing remains the same: the satisfaction feeling when a carefully thought-out construction collapses in exactly the way we thought about it.
More physics fun
While game physics is currently not lacking the creative ideas, but the required hardware, scientists show that what simulated physics can doif you theoretically have an infinite amount of power available.
Instruments of Destruction
Destructive physics pushed to the limit
ABRISS is reminiscent of Instruments of Destruction, which also gives you a lot of noise. The pioneering developer Dennis Gustafsson is known as a creative pioneer of the genre Physics game teardown unprecedented complexity achieved.
