The recent popular Gothic remake will move forward.
THQ Nordic announced today, Gothic remake The developer opened a prototype to everyone in December and has received positive feedback. As a result, remakes will begin production in the new studio.
Developers say the prototype was played by 180,000 Steam users and won more than 9,000 reviews. THQ Nordic also released a questionnaire with more than 43,000 players who answered their questions, 94% of whom were in favor of developers re-imagining the direction of classic Gothic works in modern packaging.
THQ Nordic published the full results (PDF) of the survey, which anyone can view.
The company said that development work will be carried out by a new studio currently being set up in Barcelona, Spain. So far, player feedback will determine the direction of the studio, including the requirement for a "harder, less colorful world."
Remakes will be released after 2020 for PCs and game consoles.
