Henry Cavill and Freya Allen are doing it now Anya Chalotra turn: The Yennefer actress from the Netflix series The Witcher has also signed on for a major film franchise. For James Gunn’s new DC universe she becomes a superhero, no – villain Circe – as now via Threads was officially confirmed.
Strictly speaking, Chalotra once again plays a sorceress who has to deal with a rather unusual group of superheroes. If we’re honest, th is is also James Gunn’s specialty. This is how the animated series presents itself Creature Commandos
The first milestone for the new DC Universe
Are you wondering what the Creature Commandos is supposed to be? Ultimately, this is an (even) wackier version of the Suicide Squad. Instead of supervillains, Amanda Waller (played again by Viola Davis) unites monsters and creatures to send them on dangerous suicide missions.
The Creature Commandos are made up of military meta-creatures such as Nina Mazursky (Zoe Chao), Dr. Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), Eric Frankenstein (David Harbour), G.I. Robot, Weasel (both Sean Gunn), and The Bride (Indira Vamra) together – led by Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo).
Creature Commandos is scheduled to hit the Max streaming service at the end of 2024. Incidentally, it is intended that the animated heroes and villains will make the leap into live-action films sooner or later. In addition, James Gunn does not rule out the possibility that some actors will even play multiple roles in the new DC universe.
Where Anya Chalotra could still appear for DC
In the case of Anya Chalotra, for example, the live-action series Paradise Lost would be an option. The aim is to research the origins of the island nation of Themyscira (the home of Wonder Woman). And since Circe herself is seen as Wonder Woman’s opponent in the comics, that would of course be a good idea.
By the way, Circe from the DC Comics is actually the Greek goddess, who occasionally allied with other villains such as Lex Luthor or Vandal Savage. By the way, Circe herself not only likes to mess with Wonder Woman, but even Superman himself.
