news culture After more than 40 years of abstinence, a cult anime is making a comeback in pictures
For some time now, the great classics of the Japanese animation world have had the right to have sequels like Bleach or Hunter x Hunter… Today we find out that another saga is going to have a second life… and that’s it from Gō Nagai, exactly that.
“It traverses the whole universe, as fast as light”
It’s now more than forty years since the Grendizer series swept our screens through Club Dorothée to showcase mecha combat in space. And after a total of 74 episodes, which were first broadcast between 1975 and 1977, the cult anime comes to life again.
It is Gō Nagai, the founder of Dynamic Planning Studio and the famous mangaka behind the TV series Grendizer, who personally announces the good news: After a 48-year absence, the Grendizer saga is making a comeback with a sequel.
Even if this sequel is still very mysterious, Gō Nagai already offers us some sketches to watch in the trailer above.
A game also in preparation
If you care about the Grendizer universe, know that Microids is also preparing a video game from the license (Asterix & Obelix: Beat them all!). This equally mysterious production “offers nostalgic players a license to experience the famous adventures of Actarus and his battle robot Goldorak”, with a story “full of courage, battles and betrayals”.
Being able to play the adventures of Actarus and his famous robot Goldorak (Grendizer) with today’s technologies is a dream come true. I’m very happy with this publishing deal reached with Microids and can’t wait to get my hands on this video game. Go Nagai, creator of Goldorak.
