So far, the support period for Android phones has been rather limited. Samsung and Nokia recently announced that they would distribute updates for three years instead of two. Now another company follows.

There is movement in the subject Android-Updates. So far only distributed Google corresponding updates longer than two years. Only recently, however, has also Samsung and Nokia decided to take this step – at least for selected models. Now another manufacturer follows: Vivo.
Like the tech blog XDA Developers reported, all Vivo X devices that will be launched on the market after July 2021 will receive three Android versions. Unfortunately, this promise does not apply to the current X range.
The new update policy is intended to affect the European, Indian and Australian markets. Older devices should still receive security updates.
