It looks like we are getting a remake of Alan Wake.
Today seems to be a major incident of Epic Games Store leaks. After a reference to “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” was found in the store’s database, another unannounced game appeared: Alan Wake Remake.
EpicData, a website that tracks updates to the Epic Games Store database, revealed the existence of a remake of Alan Wake. Judging by the code strings found, the unannounced project developed by the creator Remedy seems to support cloud storage.
Unfortunately, other than that, we actually don’t know anything. In other words, the idea of a remake of Alan Wake on the Epic Games Store is very reasonable. Alan Wake is not only a beloved game with visual upgrades, the existence of remaster also coincides with the recent report about Remedy’s next game being Alan Wake 2.
It is said that the project is a mysterious large-scale game of Remedy funded by Epic Games. For Remedy, it makes sense to remake Alan Wake to increase its popularity and as a way to build expectations for the sequel.
In other words, you should always be cautious about such leaks. Just because a name appears, it does not necessarily mean that the game in question is about to land on the store.
