The annual voting for Team of the Year in FIFA 23 starts this week. At this event, the fans vote for the best players of the year, who are then given special cards with high values in Ultimate Team mode.

We’ll show you which 100 players are nominated, what surprises there were and how you can vote for the TOTY.

Lots of surprises in FIFA 23 TOTY

For FUT players, the Team of the Year is considered the highest of emotions, because here there is the chance to draw the best football players of the past year from the pack of cards in an extremely strong variant.

However, many fans may be surprised by the nomination list, as many well-known names that FIFA professionals had been expecting are missing here. This includes:

• Antonio Ruediger (Real Madrid)
• David Praises (Real Madrid)
• Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)
• Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr FC)

In particular, the absence of Ronaldo should cause a lot of discussion. The Portuguese has a huge fan base internationally. Although he only had a total of 20 points for Manchester United in 2022, this value is still higher than other nominees from the attacking category.
