Although Alone in the Dark is technically a reboot, the October horror game has little in common with the original series. In two campaigns you experience the stories of Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby. Thanks to an interview, we now also know how long the two campaigns are likely to keep you busy.
Those believed dead live longer. A sentence that definitely applies to Alone in the Dark. At the end of October, the venerable series will be revived in the form of a reboot. This lets you experience the story from the perspective of two protagonists, Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby. That sounds like a lot of gameplay, and thanks to an interview by Gamingbolt, we now have a rough idea of how long the game will keep you busy.

During the conversation, the developers at Pisces Interactive were asked directly how many hours the campaigns will last. The response was as follows: “We’re aiming for six to ten hours of campaign playtime. Players should complete the game at least twice for the full story experience.”
According to Adam Riese, you have to plan about 12 to 20 hours to really get every story detail. As Pisces has already confirmed in the past, the campaigns by Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby are said to differ significantly. They will each have their own cutscenes, locations and levels.
According to current plans, Alone in the Dark will be released on October 25, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The two protagonists should already look familiar to you on the screenshots, after all the developers were able to win two well-known actors with Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, Free Guy) and David Harbor (Stranger Things, Black Widow). If you want to get a taste of the game beforehand, you can do so with a free prologue. This is available on all release platforms.
For around eleven minutes, there are all sorts of impressions, gameplay and information about the upcoming horror revival of Alone in the Dark in this video.
