While everyone was hyping up the new Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree gameplay reveal, FromSoftware creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki was asked about the possibility of a Bloodborne remake. While he and the team are reportedly delighted with the continued outpouring of love, there’s no word yet. sorry.
Eurogamer’s Ed Nightingale tried to poke fun at the Bloodborne remake interviewer, writing about Miyazaki’s response in a dedicated article. While pursuing the topic, FromSoftware kept pumping out emoticons expressing the team’s thoughts on the community’s reaction to the horror action game.

“Simply put, I’m happy to see that this work brings back so many concrete memories for me and the staff who made it,” Miyazaki said. “When we see those passionate voices in the community, of course It’s exciting for us and makes us feel so lucky to have these sounds and memories.”
He also commented on the benefits of waiting for technological advancements for remakes. As Eurogamer points out, the Demon’s Souls remake has made a two-generation jump from PS3 to PS5. As a result, Bluepoint Games was able to really tap into the system’s power at launch, allowing a new wave of players to experience FromSoftware’s first attempt at its currently popular third-person fantasy action game.
“I think having new hardware is definitely part of what gives these remasters their value […] Things that were not possible on previous generations of hardware, no way to render a specific expression – [new hardware] Sometimes makes it possible. However, I wouldn’t say that’s all. I think purely from a user perspective, modern hardware also allows more players to enjoy all games. So, it’s ultimately a simple reason, but as a player, I think accessibility is important. I think this might be the driving force behind bringing older games to new platforms. ”
While it’s an interesting insight into the thought process behind remaking these games, it sadly does mean that we Bloodborne fans will have to continue to wait and pray for this fast-paced action game’s second pass. Add to that the recent news that Bloodborne Kart had to divest all of its Bloodborne properties, and the drought continues. Oh well, at least Shadow of the Tree looks pretty good.
