We use the price search engine geizhals.de for our price comparison. On the one hand, we compare the offer with the manufacturer’s recommended retail price (RRP), which usually reflects the costs at market launch. On the other hand, we of course look at how much other, reputable, online retailers are asking for a product.
This is usually the more interesting comparison, as the EIA usually differs significantly from the current street price. When comparing with other dealers, we only consider well-known and reputable dealers with corresponding ratings and a company headquarters in Germany. We usually leave out smaller eBay or Amazon Marketplace sellers in our price comparison.
Lightning offers and last minute offers
In addition to the daily offers (last minute offers), Amazon also has so-called lightning offers. These are only valid for a few hours and the number of discounted products is limited. New lightning offers are activated every 15 or 30 minutes throughout the day.
On special days such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday, there can also be new lightning offers every five minutes. If you like a product, you put it in your virtual shopping cart. After that, you only have 15 minutes to pay at the checkout.

Amazon voucher
Since you can buy almost anything on Amazon, an Amazon voucher is a popular gift. You can do this on the Dealer’s website and set a value for the gift card yourself. It is also possible to buy vouchers for other retailers, streaming services and more on Amazon.
Shipping
For non-Prime members, shipping costs are incurred for purchases under 29 dollars when ordering from Amazon. Prime customers only have to pay for express delivery. As a non-Prime member, you have to pay the following fees:
- Standard shipping for media products, Amazon devices as well as fashion and sportswear: 2.89 dollars
- Standard shipping for products in all other categories: 3.89 dollars
- Premium shipping for media products, Amazon devices as well as fashion and sportswear: 3.86 dollars
- Premium shipping for products in all other categories: 4.86 dollars

The Amazon marketplace has a special status. Shipping costs can be incurred here for non-Prime and Prime customers alike.
Returns and exchanges
Your Right of return or right of withdrawal is 30 days at Amazon. There are also exceptions here at the Marketplace. Depending on the seller, you may only have 14 days to return the goods.
Tip: Always process the return via the Amazon website. For many products you will receive a return slip and can use the Send the goods back free of charge.
As is usual in online trading, there is no general right to exchange goods for an identical product (e.g. clothes in a different size). For some goods you can select “replace” when returning. In most cases, however, only a return is possible.
Amazon Trade-In
There is a new one at Amazon recently Trade-in program for TV sets. You can exchange your old Fire TV for a new one at the mail order company. To do this, the value is first determined based on the specified status. You will then receive an Amazon voucher for the determined device value and a 20 percent discount on a new Fire TV device.
Financing purchases – these options exist
Many products such as large kitchen appliances, televisions or notebooks are not very cheap. Not everyone can afford these devices with a one-off payment. If you still want to fulfill a long-cherished wish or are dependent on a quick new acquisition, financing is an option in this case.
It is more difficult with Amazon in this regard than with other retailers. On the one hand, with the Amazon credit card, you have the option of financing expensive products with monthly payments. Here, however, there are high interest rates of almost 15 percent.
On the other hand, the mail order company offers a partial payment option for some products. Here you can pay for goods in five monthly payments without interest. However, the availability of the 5-month financing is very limited. Usually this is offered with Amazon’s own products. Sometimes you can also find them at other retailers on the platform.
Secure your Amazon VISA card with a EUR 40 starting credit
If you secure the VISA credit card from Amazon, you can save on your first purchases. As a thank you, you will receive a credit of 40 dollars. When buying with a credit card, you also collect bonus points from Amazon and participating partners, which you can redeem when making purchases in the Amazon online shop.
