news culture Amazon Prime Video: The ultimate Spider-Man is coming, here are the movies and series coming in May 2023!
May may not be the busiest month for big movie exclusives on Prime Video, but Amazon has still managed to throw in a few pleasant surprises: movies from many countries, the same for series or more sports and documentaries. In itself there is already a lot to do.
- Live!
- Ghostbusters: Legacy
- Fear the walking dead season 8
- Spider-Man No way home
- hypersomnia
- The Gryphon, Season 1 (Prime Video Original Series)
- The complete program for the month of May 2023 on Prime Video
Live!
Released in 2016, Alive tells the story of a great chef named Adam Jones, played by good old Bradley Cooper, who arrives in Paris full of arrogance and greed. Despite his certain talent, he loses himself in alcohol and drugs (a cocktail rarely rated well in the Michelin guide) and then has to row (figuratively speaking) to climb the slope, then at the top of a new restaurant. In particular, we find Omar Sy directly present on the poster, and À Vif is generally one of those good little films to watch in peace at home. If you can order a Ritz meal ordered on Deliveroo in front of your TV, that’s even better and perfectly recommended for immersion.
- Released on Prime Video: May 1, 2023
- Performed by : John Wells
- With : Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Daniel Bruehl
Ghostbusters: Legacy
The 80’s cult saga, Ghostbusters, attempted a comeback in 2016 that we’ve already forgotten (those who remember often suffer from PTSD): on the other hand, the other comeback subtitled “L’Héritage” was a damn good surprise. The movie, due to hit theaters in 2021, was directed by Jason Reitman (Juno, Tully, Young Adult) and aims to be a true sequel to cult movies with new protagonists, many of whom are adorable children. Paul Rudd does the job and most importantly the feature film is a very nice tribute to the license with fan service, emotion and overall a good production worth watching. It’s the real Sunday night film that puts you in a good mood.
- Released on Prime Video: May 3, 2023
- Performed by : Jason Reitman
- With : Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard
Fear the walking dead season 8
The Walking Dead is a big 21st century series and it’s been around for a very (too?) long time. Time flies really fast as his spin-off Fear the Walking Dead is about to enter its eighth season and it will also be the very last! See you on Prime Video on May 16 to complete this arc around other charismatic characters with six episodes: Seven years after losing all hope of finding Mo, Morgan Jones and Madison Clark are not bathing in one of the warmest atmospheres on the island . Padre isn’t the most affectionate and Mo, an eight-year-old child, is the center of attention: the future is his and he needs to be taught the right values. In short, a dense program, especially since the walkers are never very far.
- Released on Prime Video: May 16, 2023
- Created by : Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman
- With : Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Maggie Grace
Spider-Man No way home
Released in December 2021, Spider-Man No Way Home is probably one of the most anticipated films. It must be said that the many rumors about the return of the old Spider-Man and His delirium of the armored fan-service multiverse worked beautifully: in many ways, and even if it’s far from perfect, we can consider this Marvel work a great superhero classic for all the good fortune he’s given to a gigantic community has brought.
- Released on Prime Video: May 19, 2023
- Performed by : Jon Watts
- With : Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Benedict Cumberbatch
hypersomnia
Spanish science fiction, you don’t see that every day and yet: This film by Alberto Mascia will land on the well-known Prime Video platform at the end of May. The principle is based on a new method of imprisonment in the near future: Instead of being in a “conventional” prison, inmates serve their sentences in deep sleep. A prison revolution that has drastically reduced crime and recidivism! Only then can a prisoner escape the control of one of these new generation guards, the psychologist David Damiani. And of course everything goes downhill. A feature film with a masterful atmosphere and captivating photography: it remains to be seen whether the rhythm will be executed masterfully or whether the end result will be soporific, just like the theme of its screenplay.
- Released on Prime Video: May 25, 2023
- Performed by : Alberto Mascia
- With : Stefano Accorsi, Katsiaryna Shulha, and Astrid Meloni
The Gryphon, Season 1 (Prime Video Original Series)
With Dark on Netflix, German cinema has boomed and Prime Video wants to jump on the bandwagon: Here’s The Gryphon, a series from our neighboring country that Amazon has given a big budget for, please. We follow the adventures of Mark, Memo and Becky, three young people who get into a rather crazy (and also ultra-dangerous) fantasy world called the Black Tower, where a powerful monster, the Gryphon, knocks everyone down. When Mark’s brother goes missing, Mark and his two friends set out to rescue him from this menacing universe. The problem is that between a fight with a Gryphon they don’t know about and their busy school life, the three friends have a lot on their plate. Definitely enough to make an entire season available at the end of the month.
- Released on Prime Video: May 26, 2023
- Created by : Sebastian Marka and Erol Yesilkaya
- With : Jeremias Meyer, Lea Drinda, and Zoran Pingel
