Amnesia 4 The Bunker should mark a real leap forward for the license. Gone are the basic decor interactions, space for weapons, and completely free puzzles.

For the past few days, Frictionnal Games has been sharing short clips from Amnesia The Bunker, the fourth installment in the franchise, showing us new game mechanics never before seen in the license.

A far cry from a terrifying The Dark Descent and a shaky A Machine for Pigs, amnesia

had already attempted to reinvent itself a bit with Rebirth in 2020, but apart from a few more open sequences than usual and a drastically different story than previous games, the recipe was the same. As successful as it is, the series amnesia functions primarily as a ghost train, where interactions with the scenery are often limited to poking around in search of documents and other useful objects. But with The bunkerthings should change.

Amnesia The Bunker will bring something new

If we don’t have clear information about the game yet, we know that Amnesia The Bunker

will bet on a particularly claustrophobic atmosphere, and like an alien isolation, we are constantly being hunted by a creature far more powerful than us. However, it will now be possible to defend yourself with firearms, at least with a revolver with limited mutinies.

But as a bonus Bunker amnesia will also allow us to interact with the landscape to solve puzzles in a totally free way. Frictionnal Games illustrates this new mechanic by showing us that, for example, it will be possible to open a door in different ways, such as or by throwing objects directly at it. It looks pretty lean from here, but it’s already a big leap forward for the license and we can already expect other similar game mechanics.

For now, Amnesia The Bunker has only been presented once so far, but is likely to be even more by 2023. The game is expected for PS5, Xbox Series and PC but has no release date yet.
