Is the PS5 Pro coming? When will it come? What will it be able to do? And when will it be officially announced? For some time now, we have been asking ourselves some questions about the PS5 Pro that are either not answered at all or only answered by unofficial sources such as leakers.
One of those questions: How much will upgrading from a PS5 to the PS5 Pro affect the games in our collection? A data miner may have found a crucial clue.
»Trinity«-Preset im Update-Code
The code name “Trinity” has been associated with the PS5 Pro for some time now, as it is allegedly the internal project name of Sony’s new console.
But few would have guessed that the code name of the PS5 Pro would now appear in the code of the latest update of No Man’s Sky and reveal new details.
The data miner »ThatBomberBoi« found out which settings are made in the graphics preset of »Trinity«.

What changes? The only two graphics settings that should be turned up by default with the PS5 Pro are:
- The water quality: It will supposedly default to “Ultra” instead of “High” if you’re using a PS5 Pro.
- The resolution: Instead of the dynamic resolution of 1296p on the conventional PS5, the resolution should be increased to at least 1728p.
This should make No Man’s Sky look much sharper on the PS5 Pro, but other than that there probably won’t be many more upgrades than some prettier water.
But how much better does that make the PS5 Pro in comparison? So far, we have learned from internal documents leaked that the PS5 Pro will offer up to 45 percent more performance than the PS5.
The information from the update code shows that there is even more to it than expected. The increased resolution corresponds to a performance increase of around 75 percent.
In the area of ray tracing, performance is expected to increase by around three times.
How realistic is the leak? Given that the increased resolution matches what we know about the Enhanced seal, this information could actually be true.
The seal is supposedly to be assigned to games in the PS Store that have been adapted by their developers to take advantage of the increased performance of the PS5 Pro. One of the conditions for receiving the seal is a higher dynamic resolution.
Of course, we will have to wait until the official release or at least the announcement to find out more.
