Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the XCOM-like with Marvel sauce, reveals one of its new characters, an unexpected villain.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is an XCOM-like game by Firaxis Games Studio (the same one behind the famous XCOM saga). And for now, the main characters of the Marvel Universe are confirmed as:
- blade
- Captain America
- Captain Marvel
- Doctor Strange
- wrong way driver
- iron man
- magic
- Nico Minoru
- Scarlet Witch
- Spiderman
- wolverine
That surprise aside, a villain has just been added to the list, and not least since it’s just… Venom! Firaxis, therefore, hits very hard with a fan-appreciated (and unexpected) villain.
Venom to the rescue of Marvel’s Midnight Suns
And when one player stated that he believed the game would only feature superheroes, the game’s Twitter account, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, replied:

Excellent news for Marvel’s Midnight Suns if you know all the possibilities and odds that using the symbiote presents. Since the title will play a lot with the cooperation of forces between the characters, we can very well imagine that Venom will take possession of Spider-Man and why not Wolverine.
This title aims to help forge friendships between Marvel legends among the Avengers, X-Men, Runaways and more. As in XCOM, before each mission it will be possible to decide which character will accompany you, knowing that the relationships between the heroes will have an impact on the gameplay. Namely that two superheroes who don’t like each other will be less effective in battle.
For abseiling, Midnight Suns is planned December 2, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
