With a passkey you can log in to your favorite services easily and without a password. You can find out how this works on Android here.
Passkeys are a new way to log in to many different services and apps – without long and difficult to remember passwords. Setting up a passkey is also very easy.
In order to use passkeys to log in to an app or website, the developers of that application must have implemented the appropriate security features. This is not yet the case everywhere – currently only a few selected services support the feature. However, new apps are added almost every day.
Below we will show you step by step, using PayPal as an example, how you can set up a passkey on Android.
This is how you create passkeys on Android
-
1
Tap Create Passkey on the website or app you want to create a passkey for.
-
2
Now tap Next and confirm with your PIN, your fingerprint or a face scan.
Complete! The passkey is now set up and saved in your Google password manager. This means it can be accessed on all your Google devices.
In another tutorial we will show you how to create a passkey under Windows 11.
